How Minute Medic Works

Minute Medic connects verified, ticketed medics with employers who need short-term or fill-in coverage not full-time hires. Each post is job-based, meaning the medic is contracted for that specific shift or project, and not employed by the company. Employers can list whether they provide PPE, coveralls, and site equipment, or request a medic who supplies their own truck and fully equipped medical kit compliant with Alberta standards.

Medics can choose which posts they’re available for and contact employers directly through the platform once verified. It’s fast, transparent, and independent  the employer provides the work, the medic provides the coverage, and Minute Medic provides the trusted connection in between.

Every medic on Minute Medic has a personalized, verified profile designed to make hiring simple, transparent, and trustworthy. Think of it like an Uber-style safety resume clear, fast, and easy to read. Employers can see exactly who they’re hiring. confirming a shift.

Each medic profile includes:

• Full Name or Preferred Professional Name
• Optional Profile Photo (not required, but encouraged for verification)
• Home Base / Coverage Area (e.g., Grande Prairie, Fox Creek, Drayton Valley)
• Availability Status: Available / Booked / Standby
• Wage Expectations

• Primary Certification: EMR, OFA3, AFA, PCP, or ACP
• Supporting Tickets: H2S, CSO, Confined Space, TDG, WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid, etc.
• Valid Driver’s Licence & Clean Abstract: Each medic can upload proof of a valid Alberta (or provincial equivalent) driver’s licence along with a clean driver’s abstract, confirming they can legally operate medical response vehicles.
• Ticket Expiry Dates and status verification
• ✅ “Verified by Minute Medic” badge displayed only after ticket and licence checks

Medics can select icons that instantly show what gear they bring:

• 🚑 Medic Truck (Full MTC)
• 🧰 Level 3 Kit + Oxygen (portable, Alberta compliant)
• ⛑️ PPE Provided: Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, coveralls
• ⚙️ Employer-Supplied Equipment Needed: Visible for employers to plan ahead

Icons appear beside their profile in search results, so employers can filter medics by gear level, equipment type, or coverage capability.

EXAMPLE “5 years EMR experience in northern Alberta. Familiar with remote access, drilling, and pipeline safety operations”.

Employers can click “Request for Shift” to contact a medic directly.

Medics receive a notification and can accept or decline the shift instantly -no middlemen, no waiting.

Minute Medic values your privacy and independence. Medics choose what to share — photos are optional, and contact details stay private until a verified employer requests a shift.

Where possible, we verify credentials through Workhub, a trusted third-party platform used across Alberta. If a medic already has a Workhub account, we simply confirm their valid tickets, driver’s licence, and kit compliance — no personal documents are stored on our servers.
